A Bit About Me

My name is Keelan, I'm the founder of The Flying K. I started The Flying K in high school posting videos on YouTube and TikTok, from there I moved to blog posts and tried to find a way to fund my journey to become a commercial pilot. The Flying K has been through many transition periods and was even once named "TFK Aviation" (which is still an active URL), but it just feels right to go back to my roots, with the name "The Flying K." I initially started The Flying K as a source of entertainment, posting flight sim videos as many do, but as my PPL journey continued I realized many student pilots need more resources, support, and assistance before going into flight training. This is a task I strive to learn more about each and every day.

What we see...

Over 80% of people who start or try out flight training fail, I want to help decrease that number, increasing the number of pilots and aviators worldwide. Also, female pilots only make up 14% of the industry, we want to increase that number, helping women in aviation achieve the world. IF you want more resources on female aviators head to:

The Flying K's History

TFK Aviation just wasn't cutting it. It felt too "commercialized" and not as personal as I want my platform to represent. So, I decided to go back to my roots, and who I am, The Flying K. So. Yeah. We're back for good, baby!

Oh yeah one more thing, we secured our brand name, and you can now find me easier than ever, through theflyingk.com. Simple, sleek, and fitting to who we are.

TheFlyingK rebranded to TFK Aviation. Our logo will stay the same with our classic TFK. branding. It's a big switch up, for big ideas. TFK Aviation allows us to become more "brandable" within the aviation space. The next years will be full of new improvements and updates across TFK Aviation's platforms.

Our website theflyingkofficial.com changed to theflyingk.ca in an attempt to shorter our name and show our viewers that we are proudly Canadian! During this time frame our founder, Keelan, switched flight schools, flew his first solo, took ground school, and started his university career in Political Science at Huron University.

We decided to change that website name, to something more fitting, theflyingkofficial.com. A long but fitting name, as our founder progressed through high school the videos kept getting more inconsistent. He finally published a video for a school assignment and it was a success racking in thousands of views and new subscribers. Though, he knew it wasn't complete, something felt off, uncomplete, and the switch was made later that year.

September 2020 - January 2022

The Flying K was officially created with our first video being posted to our YouTube Channel. Our story started off with MSFS 2020 and informative plane comparison videos, and is growing into other forms of content within the industry. Funny enough, our first video was recreated and became the highest viewed on the channel with over 27k views! We also used to have a website under our founders full name, a bold choice, which quickly changed to theflyingkofficial.com
